Held the First Coming Out for Equality

The first annual Coming Out for Equality convocation was held on Oct. 11th, 2011, in Wick Chapel. Expecting 20 people, we were surprised when 120 people came out to support the LGBTQ+ community. The event featured faculty, staff, and student speakers who spoke about their experiences as LGBTQ+ people or as allies to the community. Following the conclusion of the event, there was a march with pride flags around the campus loop.
